Privacy Policy

Last updated August 10, 2026

CardLab is local-first. By default everything stays on your device, and two optional features — iCloud sync and the Cloud AI tutor — only do more when you turn them on.

What we collect

No account, no login, and none of your simulations. We do not operate a database that stores them. We do use RevenueCat, a subscription analytics service, which receives records of App Store purchases - a purchase starting, renewing, or lapsing - directly from Apple, so we can see how many people subscribe. That is the only thing we collect. It is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you across apps.

Your simulations

The cards, balances, and scenarios you create are stored locally on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, they also sync through your own private iCloud account (managed by Apple, not us) so they appear on your other devices. They are never sent to our servers.

The AI tutor

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the tutor runs on Apple's on-device models and nothing leaves the device. With the optional CardLab Cloud subscription, your question and a short summary of your simulated activity - your card figures, a few recent simulated transactions, and any friend names you've entered for IOU tracking - are sent through our proxy to a third-party AI provider solely to generate that one answer. The content is not used to train models and is not stored; we keep only a usage count tied to your subscription to prevent abuse.

Purchases

If you buy CardLab Pro (one-time) or subscribe to CardLab Cloud, the App Store handles the payment. We only learn that the purchase is active. We never see your card or payment details. Apple reports these purchase events to RevenueCat on our behalf so we can measure subscriptions; RevenueCat receives the purchase record, not your name, email, or Apple ID.

No ads, no data selling

We do not show ads, sell or share your data, or track you across apps. Your simulations are never collected in the first place, so there is nothing there to sell.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date above.
